What Is An Educational Transfer Certificate and How Do I Get It Attested for the UAE?

Much of the UAE’s growth happened in the last 50 years. Until the 1960s, it had a handful of schools for international students, but now, it has hundreds of millions of local and expatriate students. There are around 200 private schools in Dubai that enroll around 300,000 students.

Since the UAE’s economic boom in the 90s, the country has welcomed expatriates from all over.

What Schools Can International Students Attend?

In the UAE, international students are allowed to attend private and public schools; however, they have to pay public schools fees, unlike Emirati students, who enjoy free education in schools and universities.

About 40% of students in the country attend private schools that adhere to internationally recognized curriculums. Some schools also offer classes in foreign languages for the ease of expat students who don’t speak Arabic and English.

The Growth of UAE Universities

There’s been significant growth in the number of universities in Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and Dubai.

Students from the region are opting for universities in the UAE instead of universities in the UK and the US. The UAE has witnessed an influx of Indian students as well, as top Indian universities have opened in the country.

Transfer Certificates

All expatriates who are moving to the UAE must submit transfer certificates as proof of past education. This law was created and implemented by the UAE Ministry of Education, which oversees all issues related to local and international students in schools and universities.

The purpose of the transfer certificate is to prove that the student has the qualifications necessary for enrollment in UAE institutions; it also helps curb fraud.

If a student fails to provide an attested transfer certificate, the UAE-based institute has the right to reject admission.

Parents of young expatriate kids should get their kids’ education certificates in order before moving to the UAE.

Attesting Educational Certificates

Students with board certificates must get them attested by the respective authorities to prove their legitimacy.
